Miami (Oh) Red Hawks by 3
Ladies and gentlemen, we're looking at the Ohio Bobcats going head to head with the Miami (Oh) Red Hawks for a MAC Championship special and let me tell you, it's going to be a wild ride.
Now, these teams aren't exactly unfamiliar with each other, having locked horns twice in the past with Miami (Oh) coming on top on both occasions. But past victories don't always secure future success, now do they?
Let's talk about performances. The Bobcats have outscored their adversaries in recent outings, with dominating shutouts against the Eastern Michigan Eagles and Kent State Golden Flashes. Miami's doing just fine too, with some pretty decisive wins under their belt.
Let's take a look at our quarterbacks. Parker Navarro of the Bobcats boasts a 137.4 passing efficiency with three touchdowns, but also three interceptions. The Red Hawks' Brett Gabbert, however, is tossing slightly better numbers with an efficiency of 145.3 and eight touchdowns, while sporting the same number of interceptions as Navarro. It's not a beauty contest, but Gabbert takes the cake here.
In terms of offensive prowess, pay attention to Ohio's RB, Anthony Tyus and WR, Coleman Owen. Tyus totaled 365 yards with 3 touchdowns over the last month, and Owen picked up an impressive 19.4 average yards per reception. Over on the Red Hawk's side, Keyon Mozee and Reginald Virgil are your guys to watch. Mozee's put up a notable 501 total yards and 2 touchdowns, while Virgil has been on the receiving end of 17 stellar passes with an impressive 22.2 average yardage.
Defensively, both teams aren't slacking either. The Bobcats have Shay Taylor with 13 tackles and 2 sacks and Marcel Walker with an additional two sacks under his belt. Miami's Silas Walters with 13 tackles and Corey Suttle's 4 sacks might just even out the odds.
I mean you may as well toss a coin on this one, but considering the numbers, and the order of the stars... I'm leaning a smidge towards the Hawks.
Albert’s Prediction: Miami (Oh) Red Hawks by 3
