Talk about a nail-biter! Grab your popcorn folks, we have the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks flying into the nest of the Kennesaw State Owls. Both teams are looking for redemption from their early season games, to say the least.
First, let's talk Skyhawks. One name you need to remember: Kinkead Dent. This QB, despite the losing record, is showing some promise with a solid passing efficiency of 130.7, total of 4 TDs and only 1 INT in the last month. His second in command, Kaiya Sheron is also doing quite well, arguably even better, with a higher passing efficiency of 151.7. Now, for the ground game, Patrick Smith needs no introduction, racking up 295 total yards and a TD.
On the other side, we have the Owls. Bryson Davis holds the reins here, but with a lower passing efficiency at 114.0, he'll need to improve to compete with the Skyhawks' QBs. As for their offensive line, Qua Ashley's performance is, well, not too stellar with only 164 total yards, but still maintaining the lead in the team.
But one thing that also counts is the defense. The Skyhawks don't really boast impressive stats here - Sharpe, Johnson and Hastings all have similar figures in the tackle department, but none with any sacks, forced fumbles or interceptions. The Owls, on the other hand, their defensive line is more active. Isaac Paul with 18 tackles and a forced fumble, alongside Johnson with an impressive two sacks. JeRico Washington and Baron Hopson are also worthy mentions.
Looking at the numbers, we're heading for a close game, folks. But if I had to put my money on this, despite having a rougher start this season, the Owls' stronger defensive line and home field advantage might just tip the scale in their favor.
