Connecticut Huskies by 12
Jumping right into this NCAA Football matchup, the Buffalo Bulls are bringing a solid 3-1 regular season record to Connecticut Huskies' turf, the Huskies standing at a balanced 2-2. Now, if you were simply looking at the numbers, Buffalo’s performance might appear more impressive with their recent victories against Northern Illinois and Massachusetts; though, they did drop the ball significantly against Missouri. But when you move past the surface and delve into the recent game against Florida, you see a different Connecticut Huskies team that blew away their opposition with a whopping 48-14 scoreline. So, one might say the Huskies are still finding their footing, but when they do, boy can they make some noise.
Buffalo is steered by quarterback CJ Ogbonna, who's showcased a nice passing efficiency with 4 TDs. Connecticut, however, has gone a bit left and right with QBs Joe Fagnano and Nick Evers, both showing potential, but Fagnano steals the show with a 225.1 passing efficiency and 7 TDs in last month.
Offensively, the Bulls are putting their faith in Victor Snow (WR) and AL-Jay Henderson (RB), both having quite a decent last month. Meanwhile, the Huskies are leaning heavily on Skyler Bell (WR) and Durell Robinson (RB) who have pulled big numbers with 347 and 311 total yards respectively.
On the defensive front, both teams have their stars with Shaun Dolac (LB) leading the Bulls and Tui Faumuina-Brown (LB) holding the fort for the Huskies. Dolac’s two interceptions could be the game changer while Faumuina-Brown's 25 tackles show his relentlessness.
When all said and done, accounting for recent form, individual key player performances, and probably a flip of a lucky coin or two, I see Connecticut capitalizing on their home advantage and strong offensive lineup.
Albert’s Prediction: Connecticut Huskies by 12.
