Boy, oh boy, it looks like we're in for quite a showdown when the Akron Zips sprint onto the Ohio Bobcats' turf.
Recently, Akron's results haven't been writing home material. I mean, sure, they took a win off the generally toothless Colgate Raiders, but then experienced some true decimations by South Carolina, Rutgers, and, of course, the Ohio State. The Bobcats, on the flip side, managed to effectively scratch the ear of Morgan State Bears and South Alabama, but Kentucky left them looking like roadkill.
When we glance back at the QB's playbook, the Zips' Ben Finley and Tahj Bullock, just don't seem to be fairing as well as the Bobcats' Parker Navarro. Navarro's passing efficiency's been stronger, although they've each thrown a fair share of interceptions, he's managed fewer. So, a clear advantage for Ohio there.
Offensively, Ohio's Anthony Tyus and Coleman Owen have been burning up the field, chewing up yardage like breakfast cereal. The Zips' Jordon Simmons and Charles Kellom also show some promise, but let's be real, they'd need to sprout wings to match Tyus.
On the defense, Akron's key players like Antavious Fish and Bryan McCoy certainly can hold their ground. But they're up against Ohio's Austin Brawley and Blake Leake, who've proven to be an intimidating force. It seems like the hardware advantage goes to the Bobcats here too.
The last time these two met, the Bobcats had a leg up and ended up bagging a win. With that in mind along with the recent performances, my money (not literally, I'm not allowed to bet on these)... would be on the Ohio Bobcats grabbing the victory here, folks (excuse me, people who care about sports).
